ARH Associates Milestones for LiveWell Senior Cottages Project in the City of Vineland

 

City of Vineland, New Jersey — ARH Associates, a leading multi-discipline engineering firm in New Jersey, proudly announces a significant milestone for the LiveWell Senior Cottages project. This is a groundbreaking retirement community in the City of Vineland, Cumberland County, New Jersey.

This ARH Associates project, led by LWM Predevelopment, LLC, introduces an innovative approach to age-restricted independent senior housing with supportive services. Nestled near W. Sherman Avenue and S. Orchard Road, this 24.6-acre development comprises 130 Senior Living Cottages within 80 buildings and offers personalized home care and a central Community Center.

ARH Associates overcame zoning challenges in the B-3 Business Zone. Under the leadership of Stuart Wiser, PP, AICP, ARH Associates secured a Use Variance from the City of Vineland Zoning Board in May 2023. The LiveWell project distinguishes itself from traditional Assisted Living and Age-Restricted Communities by providing rental cottages with no maintenance obligations for residents.

The LiveWell initiative integrates individualized cottage-style homes with small community-centric neighborhoods, shared amenities, and flexible levels of home care. Each self-contained pocket neighborhood encourages social interaction and provides appropriate services for seniors transitioning to age-in-place living. A 5,000 square foot Clubhouse, a Dog Park, and a Children’s Playground enhance the sense of community and shared experience.

ARH Associates gained approvals from the City of Vineland Zoning Board and endorsements from the Cumberland County Planning Board. The project includes road widening, curbs, and sidewalks on County Road frontages, adhering to recently updated NJ stormwater regulations with minimal impact on traffic and no disruption to the school system.

Carolyn Feigin, PE, PP Named 9th Partner 

in ARH’s 90-Year History

 

Milestone Driven by Shared Vision and Values

(Hammonton, NJ)  Richard Rehmann, President of ARH Associates, proudly announced today that Carolyn Feigin, PE, PP, has been appointed as the 9th partner in the firm’s 90-year history. Carolyn joins Rehmann, along with current partners Richard Heggan, PLS, PP, and Jeffery MacPhee, PLS, forming a leadership team dedicated to advancing ARH’s mission and driving the company’s continued success.

Feigin, who joined ARH in 2022, played a pivotal role in launching and managing the firm’s first-ever Monmouth County office. Richard Rehmann expressed, “ARH was founded on the principles of partnership and service by individuals united by a shared ethos—they were true masters of their craft, pioneers of innovation, and held a profound commitment to positively impacting the communities they served. Today, I know that legacy carries on as Carolyn Feigin embodies those same values and principles and is a natural fit for the organization.”

With an impressive near-30-year career, Feigin has garnered praise for her contributions to the engineering profession and her dedication to mentoring the next generation of engineers, culminating in her selection as the next President of the New Jersey Society of Professional Engineers in 2024. Despite her notable accomplishments, Feigin sees her new role as more about the future than the past.

“Maybe someday down the line, I’ll take a minute and digest what I have experienced and accomplished throughout my career,” remarked Feigin. “At the moment, though, my energy is focused on the future and what it means to be at the forefront of a growing and dynamic firm. I am excited about the team we continue to assemble throughout our organization and what the future holds for all of us.”

Feigin becomes not only the first partner without familial ties to John Adams, Earl J. Rehmann, or Rueben D. Heggan Jr. since the 1970s, but she is also the first female principal of the firm – a fact she recognizes and a role she embraces.

“While there has been improvement since I entered the industry, I still believe women are underrepresented in our field – especially in leadership positions where there is a true opportunity to drive significant change. Since the beginning of my career, I have felt the obligation to mentor, befriend and recruit more women into engineering. While I certainly hope this continues the momentum of change, I also intend to use this as a platform to push for it.”

Residing in Toms River, Feigin earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology and is a licensed Professional Engineer and Professional Planner in New Jersey and a licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania. Before joining ARH, she worked with DW Smith Associates, FWH Associates and Owen, Little and Associates.

The roots of ARH Associates trace back to 1935 when Earl Rehmann and John Adams performed a survey together in Buena Township. After being paid with a $10 bill, the duo ripped the bill and each took half to memorialize their partnership. This gesture marked the beginning of a business built on values of teamwork, collaboration, and unwavering dedication to client service. Over the years, ARH Associates has evolved from its humble beginnings in a two-car garage on Hammonton’s Grape Street to a regional firm performing work across the Mid-Atlantic region.

As the Company has grown, it has seen the addition of Earl’s son Chris, an engineer, and Reuben Heggan, a surveyor, as partners. Reuben’s legacy has been carried on by his sons Richard and Robert – both preeminent surveyors.

In 1993, Chris Rehmann’s son Richard joined the ownership team and has served as President and CEO since 2013. In 2023, Robert Heggan’s son-in-law Jeff MacPhee became the first new partner since Richard Rehmann.

Both Richard Heggan and Jeff MacPhee said they are excited about the addition of Carolyn.
