Imagination Kingdom

ARH was asked by Pemberton Township to partner with them in implementing their plan to improve Township services. During this process it was discovered that the Imagination Kingdom playground, part of the Township’s Park and Recreation System, was constructed using wooden playground equipment that was later found to be contaminating the surrounding ground.

This required the playground to be removed, much to the disappointment of residents. After managing the environmental site assessment and cleanup process, ARH immediately began to work with the Township to not only replace the playground, but to improve it immensely.

Once the site had been deemed safe, ARH recommended and facilitated an application to NJDEP Green Acres Program to help re-build Imagination Kingdom. Pemberton had already formed a committee to design their “dream” playground for the children of Pemberton, and with the Green Acres award of $895,000.00, they were able to achieve that goal.

ARH not only prepared the plans for the project, they also donated their time to layout the project. Imagination Kingdom II, which was designed to be completely handicap accessible, ended up being the largest Community-Built Playground in the state of New Jersey.
